Insufficient Memory – Group Cache Pool is full

Symptoms :
When user try to login using Lotus Notes shown error : “Insufficient Memory – Group Cache Pool is full”. Even though you re-certify user cert id and try to delete this user and re-create again. The error still shown when login to Lotus Domino using Lotus Notes.

Cause :
This is because your Lotus Domino group has reach over maximum 5000 groups

Solution :
Please delete unused Lotus Domino group

How to disable local notes database encryption

If you think that you want to copy lotus notes nsf data from remote domino server using replication a new replica, then i think you have a wrong solution, because how can you replicate your nsf data while you are in a slow network such as in VSAT network?

It is happened to me when i’ve to deploy domino server in remote site with only 64 Kbps and the database you’ve to copied 1 GB for each nsf application. Lucky, i’ve local database replication copy from user’s PC.

When i’ve to restore lotus notes email using user local database copy, unfortunately the domino shown error dialog box “this database has been encrypt bla bla”, it was happened because when user create a new replica database, Lotus Notes tick enable encryption by default. It means this traditional copy is not a complete solution.

The best way to do this is you have to disable database encryption, but how to do this? Please follow my lead 😀

  1. Open Lotus Notes application workspace, right click at email or nsf application that you want to disable it.
  2. Choose Application – Properties, and click Encryption Settings button
  3. The default like this following picture, but you have to choose “Do not locally encrypt this database” then press OK button :
  4. After that you have to compact the database to applied the new settings you’ve made. Still in database application properties, go to tab “i” and click “Compact” button.
  5. After that you can copy your notes dabatase such as email, etc to your domino server.

Rebuilt Lotus Domino Busytime

Suatu ketika saya menambahkan resources pada database “Resource & Reservation” yang terdapat pada Lotus Domino. Dan ternyata begitu resource yang telah berhasil dibuat itu akan digunakan dan perlu untuk diapprove tiba-tiba munculah error “This resource is not available this time”

Setelah googling, ternyata Lotus Domino biasanya menggunakan schedule manager, calendar connector dan agent manager untuk mengenerate database yang bernama “Local Free Time Info” dengan nama file “busytime.nsf”. Pada database tersebut tersimpan list people, resources dan room yang nantinya akan berfungsi sebagai item yang akan digunakan dalam Calendar.

Ternyata setelah saya cek di “busytime.nsf” saya tidak menemukan resource yang baru saja telah saya create, sehingga inilah yang menyebabkan error “This resource is not available” pada saat di approve padahal jelas-jelas resource ini available.

Oleh karena itu diperlukan memforce Domino untuk melakukan generate kembali pada “busytime.nsf”. Untuk melakukannya, ikutilah tahap-tahap berikut ini :

  1. Matikan semua task-task Calendar Connector, Schedule Manager dan agent manager. Ketik pada console :
    tell sched q
    tell CalConn q
    tell RnRMgr q <—- Note: This command is for the Domino 7.x server only
    dbcache flush <—- Menurut IBM bisa jadi dilakukan berulang kali tergantung pada beban server.
  2. Backup “busytime.nsf” anda setelah itu hapus “busytime.nsf” yang ada di folder Lotus\Domino\Data. (optional: lakukan jika ternyata “busytime.nsf” corrupt/rusak).
  3. load sched
    load CalConn
    load RnRMgr <—- Note: This command is for the Domino 7.x server only
  4. After that “busytime.nsf” akan tercreate. Dan silahkan mencoba lagi.

Domino Administrator id has expired

Ketika anda membuka Domino Admin dengan menggunakan Domino Administrator id ditemukan error “Server Error : your certificate has expired”, maka itu artinya Domino Administrator id telah expired. Apabila ternyata ada user yang mampu melakukan certifikasi selain Domino Administrator maka sebenarnya langkah yang dilakukan cukup mudah. Cukup ikuti instruksi yang didapatkan dari http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?fdoc=wplcdomi&rs=463&uid=swg21087566 

Nah celakanya bagaimana jika keadaannya ternyata tidak ada seorang pun yang mampu melakukan “certify” selain Domino Administrator yang padahal id Domino Administrator telah expired?

Maka ada beberapa langkah untuk menghidupkan lagi Domino Administrator dengan memberikan hak akses setara Domino Administrator kepada user tertentu.

Lalu bagaimana caranya? Ikuti langkah2 berikut ini :

  1. Jangan Panik.
  2. Jalankan “<path>/Lotus/Domino/nlnotes.exe”.
  3. Buka files “names.nsf” di local.
  4. Hasilnya akan terbuka People & Groups Directory, cuma yang kita lakukan di sini adalah memberikan access control kepada user tertentu misal Johntor dengan akses setara Domino administrator. <Biasanya People – Manager dengan akses semua roles>.
  5. Kemudian buka files “certlog.nsf” di local.
  6. Berikan access kepada johntor setara dengan Domino Administrator.
  7. Tutup program nlnotes.exe nya.
  8. Restart Domino servernya.
  9. Kemudian buka Domino Admin menggunakan id johntor.
  10. Kemudian lakukan certifikasi id Domino Administrator (Configuration – Certification – Certify)
  11. Pilih certifiernya sesuai dengan OU yang bersangkutan.
  12. Set tanggal expired datenya. Klik OK
  13. That’s it ! Catatan dari saya jangan sampai lupa untuk certify jika sudah mau expired.

Open file archive tiba-tiba muncul Signature Error

Kondisi pada masalah di bawah adalah server email dan server archive terpisah…

Hati-hati dengan template lotus domino yang baru versi 8. Kalau misalnya user mau archive sendiri emailnya (user ybs sudah menggunakan template lotus domino 8 ) maka archive filenya yang ada di server archive akan langsung kerubah otomatis templatenya menjadi versi 8. Sehingga user ybs jika membuka file archivenya akan terjadi error signature.
Jika proses archiving dilakukan sendiri oleh server email utama maka tidak akan terjadi masalah (please correct me if i am wrong), meskipun user menggunakan template domino 8 sedangakan acrhivenya menggunakan template domino 7.

Solusi untuk masalah di atas :
Jika menemukan gejala tersebut (khusus user yang menggunakan template 8). Perhatikan cara berikut :

1. Cek design template user ybs pada server archive apakah STRDMail8?
2. Jika ya, ganti design di mail archive user ybs menjadi “dwa7”
3. di console ketik “l design -f archive\file archive user.nsf”
4. Jika muncul tulisan proses design berarti proses sampai step ini benar.
5. Dicoba lagi seharusnya sudah langsung benar.

Lotus Domino 7.0.2 (FP2) has been released

Halo para pecinta Lotus Domino,

Lotus Domino 7.0.2 (FixPatch 2) telah direlease oleh IBM sejak tanggal 4 Juni 2007. IBM menyarankan kepada user domino untuk menjalankan patchnya. Sedangkan untuk Lotus Domino 7.0.3 akan direlease pada bulan Oktober 2007.

Pastikan sebelum anda melakukan patch sistem, khususnya pada sistem windows. Pastikan file msvcr71.dll terdapat pada folder %systemroot%/system32 karena installernya membutuhkan Runtime C Library file. Jika tidak maka akan terjadi error seperti yang saya alami.
